Job summary

The CDC Foundation is seeking a Health Communications Specialist to provide strategic communications support across multiple programs within the Division of Community-Based Prevention and Care, including oral health, asthma, and community-health alignment. This remote role will develop key messages, choose channels, and tailor content to diverse audiences while addressing health inequities.

Collaboration with program teams and partners will be essential to implement effective communications

Qualifications

Master’s degree in health communications, public health, or a related field.
2–4 years professional experience in health communications or related field.
Knowledge of behavior change messaging and other communications principles.

Responsibilities

Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate communications message strategies that meet public health mission and goals.
Provide marketing and communications expertise in printed and online publications, websites, and collateral materials.
Work with program teams to develop effective message planning, research, and delivery.
Establish relationships with partners, contractors, and stakeholders.
Develop content for posting on digital media outlets, ensuring consistency across channels.
Ensure communications activities are based on accepted principles and best practices.
Attend internal and external meetings and complete required deliverables on time.
Manage project work, including quality assurance and deliverable compliance.
