Job summary

Advantmed is seeking an experienced HCC/Risk Adjustment Medical Coder for remote work in the United States. Candidates should hold CPC or CCS certification (CRC a plus) and have 1–2 years of risk adjustment coding experience, with strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CMS-HCC guidelines.

You will review medical records, ensure coding accuracy, maintain HIPAA compliance, and collaborate with clinicians. This BYOD role requires a Windows Pro device and internet; hours align with EST, 6 AM to 6 PM,

Qualifications

• Holding CPC or CCS certification (AHIMA or AAPC) is required. Higher-level certifications like CRC are advantageous.
• 1–2 years of Risk Adjustment and HCC coding experience in a healthcare setting.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CMS-HCC risk adjustment methodology, and coding guidelines.
• Familiarity with EHR systems and coding software; ability to work independently with high accuracy.
• Commitment to HIPAA compliance and data security in all coding activities.

Responsibilities

• Review and accurately code medical records for Risk Adjustment and HCC.
• Ensure coding aligns with ICD-10-CM and CMS-HCC guidelines.
• Validate data completeness and integrity; resolve discrepancies between docs and codes.
• Keep up-to-date with coding rules and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare reports on coding activity and quality; assist in audits and process improvements.
