Job summary

Datavant is seeking an experienced HCC coder to review medical records and code diagnoses using ICD-10 CM for risk adjustment and reimbursement. The role emphasizes accuracy, compliance with coding guidelines, and ability to manage multiple client projects in a remote, production environment.

You will need at least 2 years of HCC coding, extensive ICD-10 knowledge, strong medical terminology, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of HCC coding experience.
• Extensive ICD-10 knowledge.
• Able to be flexible in a remote work environment.
• Strong medical terminology, abbreviations, pharmacology, and disease knowledge.
• Capable of working in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining quality.
• Able to follow instructions, meet deadlines and work independently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable working remotely and managing time.
• Knowledge of computing hardware/software use for data security and processing.

Responsibilities

• Review, analyze, and code diagnostic information in patient records per client guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with ICD-10 CM, DRGs coding guidelines, and reimbursement policies.
• Maintain a coding accuracy rate of 95% or higher.
• Perform other tasks as requested by management.
