Job summary

Virtix Health is seeking an experienced HCC coding professional for a 100% remote, full-time or part-time role. Review medical records, abstract ICD-10-CM codes, and map to HCC, RxHCC, and ESRD models using encoder software and AHA Coding Clinic resources.

Ideal candidates have at least 6 months retrospective HCC coding experience and an AHIMA or AAPC credential (CPC/CRC/COC/RHIT/CCS/CCS-P), plus strong Excel/Outlook skills. Remote work with flexible hours available.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months of retrospective HCC coding experience, plus 1 year of coding experience.
• Current AAPC or AHIMA credential required (CPC, CRC, COC, RHIT, CCS, or CCS-P).
• Apprenticeship designations are not accepted.
• Must have working knowledge of EMRs, Billing systems, abstraction platforms.
• Must have a phone and reliable internet connection.
• Team Member must be able to work from home and be independent in their coding skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records, abstract ICD-10-CM codes, and map to HCC, RxHCC, and ESRD models.
• Utilize encoder software and access to AHA Coding Clinic resources.
• Follow ICD-10-CM guidelines and risk adjustment data abstraction rules.
• Ensure privacy and security of all confidential information.
• Maintain a quality score of 95% or higher and meet productivity targets.
• Coordinate with team and leadership as required.
