Job summary

The Fire Safe Council of Santa Cruz County is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support a grant-funded hazardous-fuel-reduction project along Soquel San Jose Road. The contractor will provide planning, coordination, oversight, and documentation with independence and accountability.

Qualifications include 7+ years in project management, GIS capabilities, CEQA/regulatory knowledge, and strong communication. Remote admin work is possible; field presence required in Santa Cruz County.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of project management experience in natural-resource fields.
• Experience with CEQA, permitting, and environmental compliance preferred.
• Strong GIS/mapping capability and ability to develop treatment maps.

Responsibilities

• Define scope and requirements for hazardous-fuel-reduction activities.
• Develop pre-project treatment plans and track progress with GIS data.
• Coordinate landowner permissions and act as primary contact for community.
• Oversee bid requests, proposals, and contractor selection.
• Ensure adherence to prescriptions, safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain detailed tracking of deliverables, schedules, and budgets.
• Prepare post-project reports and update SOPs and documentation.
