Job summary

LanguageLine Solutions is hiring Hawaiian-English telephone interpreters to work from home in the United States. The role is part-time and independent contractor, with a pay rate of $2.50–$2.55 per minute and a broad range of industries served, including health care and government.

Interpreter sessions require a quiet home environment, strong cultural competency, and the ability to handle emotional calls with professionalism. Training and support are provided.

Qualifications

• Fluency in Hawaiian and English.
• Ability to read and write the requested languages — highly preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Respond to interpreting sessions promptly and conduct interpretation in a friendly and professional manner.
• Render correct concepts and meanings according to established interpretation protocol.
• Speak clearly in both languages with proper pronunciation and polite expressions.
• Maintain a professional demeanor and remain neutral on calls, including emergency situations.
• Follow client instructions to meet expectations and work within security requirements.
