Job summary

Packetlabs is seeking a Penetration Tester - Hardware to lead end-to-end security assessments of embedded and IoT devices, combining hands-on testing with rigorous analysis to deliver credible, actionable results for clients.

The role requires testing through JTAG/SWD/UART, firmware extraction, reverse engineering with tools such as Ghidra, IDA, and Binwalk, and clear reporting to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Remote work option for Florida residents is supported.

Qualifications

• Ability to plan and execute hardware security assessments on embedded devices.
• Experience reversing firmware and analyzing hardware interfaces.
• Hands-on soldering and diagnosis of board-level issues.
• Familiarity with reading schematics and datasheets.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute end-to-end hardware penetration tests on embedded and IoT devices.
• Access and exploit on-board interfaces (JTAG, SWD, UART) to gain code execution.
• Extract firmware and analyze for vulnerabilities with reverse engineering tools.
• Produce technical reports and present findings to clients.
• Build and maintain lab tooling and testing rigs.
