Job summary

Principal Financial Group is seeking a Client Relationship Consultant to partner with our Sales team and Broker partners in the Pittsburgh, PA or Cleveland, OH area. You will implement customized strategies, manage an assigned block of in-force group business, and drive growth with exemplary service.

The role emphasizes relationship management, renewal analysis, and selling new lines of business, with travel about 25% and a flexible, remote-capable work arrangement in the market.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent plus 4+ years related experience (group benefits and/or account management experience preferred).
• Must be able to acquire and maintain all required state licenses within 90 days. Active life/health license preferred.
• Must have excellent persuasion, interpersonal, problem‑solving, decision‑making, time management, presentation, listening, and oral/written communication skills, as well as analytical skills.
• Advanced math skills required with basic skills related to graphs, symbols, equations, etc.
• Intermediate computer skills and knowledge of business unit applications preferred.
• Maintain accuracy while being detail oriented.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality is essential.
• Travel required (approx. 25%), including overnight stays and time out in the market in face‑to‑face contact with customers and brokers.
