Job summary

CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking two Electric Distribution Planning Engineers to join our Electric Distribution Team in a remote capacity.

You will contribute to the planning, analysis, and design of electric distribution systems that enhance reliability, support grid modernization, and strengthen resiliency for utility clients and the communities they serve. The roles offer opportunities to work with senior staff on diverse projects, applying engineering expertise to deliver impactful solutions

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Minimum of 3 years of related engineering experience required.
• EIT certification or PE license preferred.
• Proficiency with engineering software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation) and MS Office.
• Strong communication and collaborative skills.

Responsibilities

• Independently complete engineering design, technical analysis, and preparation of specifications and reports for electric distribution planning and infrastructure projects
• Develop computation methods, technical reports, and specifications under guidance of senior staff
• Identify and resolve technical discrepancies, applying standard engineering procedures and utility best practices
• Monitor project progress and performance, resolving operational issues and minimizing delays in critical infrastructure projects
• Take responsibility for large portions of projects with oversight from senior staff, including field assignments, system assessments, and infrastructure improvement initiatives
