Job summary

Electric Power Engineers (EPE) is seeking a Distribution Planning Engineer II to support utility distribution planning initiatives in a client-facing role. You will perform modeling, analysis, and studies related to electric distribution systems and communicate results to stakeholders.

Responsibilities include load growth projections, power flow studies, DER interconnection reviews, and development of reports and recommendations to help modernize the grid.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering; Master of Science or higher preferred.
• Minimum 3+ years of experience related to distribution utilities/power systems.
• Distribution modeling software experience in at least one software platform (CYME, Synergi Electric, openDSS, etc.).
• Strong technical skills related to utility distribution systems; ability to leverage AI and automation to improve quality, productivity and innovation.
• Proven team player with mentoring skills and strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Conduct distribution planning studies and short-circuit/protection coordination studies.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and recommendations for client planning teams.
• Analyze DER impacts and interconnection reviews; communicate study results clearly.
• Develop tools and processes to improve study completion and efficiency.
