Job summary

Planned Parenthood California Central Coast is seeking a part-time Community Organizer to advance local advocacy, outreach, and grassroots campaigns in the Santa Maria area. You will work with community partners, volunteers, and regional offices to expand support and engagement, including events at health fairs and colleges.

The role emphasizes building relationships, coordinating volunteer efforts, and tracking outcomes while supporting PPCC Action Fund initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 2+ years related experience/training; or equivalent combination.
• 1-2 years in field/community organizing strongly preferred.
• Prior experience with campaign work and advocacy helpful.
• Experience with reproductive health advocacy and grassroots organizing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement and manage field organizing and coordinate grassroots campaigns.
• Recruit, train, and mobilize volunteers and legislative supporters.
• Manage grant-funded programs, reporting, and obligations.
• Support patient advocacy programs and campus/college partnerships.
• Collect data and report constituents and program outcomes.
• Coordinate with PPCCC AF and statewide offices on advocacy efforts.
• Travel within PPCCC geographic area and some out-of-area travel.
