Job summary

Planned Parenthood Mar Monte, Inc. seeks a Public Affairs Coordinator to establish and coordinate PP Generation Action groups on local university campuses in Fresno, expanding support for the organization’s issues.

You will recruit and train volunteers, build partnerships with diverse organizations, plan community events, and maintain strong relationships with donors and the public while upholding affiliate policies. Strong writing, organizational, and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• A BA in a related field or equivalent.
• One year of relevant work and/or volunteer experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of community organizing.
• Experience in media relations.
• Must be comfortable managing multiple projects and new learning opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Establish and coordinate PP Generation Action groups on local campuses to broaden support.
• Provide support to PPMM grassroots coalition partners and establish new partnerships with diverse groups.
• Plan and coordinate community events to build PPMM presence and relationships.
• Recruit, train, motivate, and activate local volunteers.
• Provide training for staff and volunteers on public affairs activities (tabling, lobbying, advocacy).
• Active member of Public Affairs team; participate in PPVNV and PPAC as needed.
• Write articles for newsletters and media releases.
• Adhere to affiliate policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
