Job summary

Murmuration is seeking a Development Specialist to grow our contributed-revenue pipeline, owning grant writing and reporting. Reporting to the VP of Growth, you’ll craft compelling proposals, deliver timely funder reports, and keep the development pipeline organized as we diversify funding.

You will collaborate with Communications on donor materials, while leading fundraising writing and reporting. This full-time role supports a national US-based team with strong growth potential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of development, fundraising, or investor relations experience (4-5 years preferred).
• Strong grant-writing and proposal-development skills with experience producing fundraising materials.
• Experience delivering grant reports and donor communications.
• Comfort with agentic AI and LLM-assisted proposal tools for mapping funder networks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with ability to convey complex ideas clearly.
• Experience proofreading and copyediting.

Responsibilities

• Research, draft, and edit grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and other fundraising materials, and track submissions.
• Prepare on-time grant reports and donor communications with impact stories and data.
• Research prospects and funders, prepare briefing materials, and coordinate follow-ups.
• Collaborate with VP of Growth to develop annual and multi-year fundraising plans.
• Help maintain development processes, pipeline tracking, and fundraising records in Salesforce.
• Collaborate with Communications team on donor-facing materials.
• Assist with planning and executing events and special projects.
