Job summary

The New York Botanical Garden seeks a thoughtful, organized WILD Student Researcher and Designer to support workforce innovation and leadership development. You will assist with surveys, interviews, data analysis, and documentation to translate staff experiences into practical program improvements.

Applicants should be enrolled in a graduate program and possess strong writing, facilitation, and project coordination skills.

Qualifications

• Experience with qualitative and/or quantitative research including surveys.
• Strong writing, editing, and communication skills with ability to synthesize complex information.
• Excellent organizational and project coordination abilities.
• Ability to facilitate conversations across varied roles and ensure inclusive feedback.
• Attention to data quality and confidential handling of information.
• Experience with program evaluation in mission-driven settings preferred.
• Interest in workforce development and ethical use of AI preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support Seeds of Growth microgrant cycle coordination and follow-up with departments.
• Maintain project plans, trackers, and quarterly check-ins.
• Prepare templates and tools to define learning needs and outcomes.
• Design and administer surveys, interviews, focus groups, and pulse checks.
• Conduct interviews and gather feedback with confidentiality in mind.
• Collect, clean, organize, and analyze qualitative and quantitative data.
• Identify themes and translate evidence into concise summaries and recommendations.
• Document Seeds of Growth projects as case examples and reusable resources.
• Support end-of-project showcase and collaborate on library resources updates.
• Maintain accurate research files and time records with discretion.
