Job summary

CSAA Insurance Group is seeking a Governance Engineer II for a remote role. You will implement governance-as-code, automate guardrails for APIs and AI, and collaborate with security, data, and engineering teams to ensure secure access to enterprise resources.

In this hands-on role, you will translate policies into practical standards, develop reusable components, and monitor compliance while enabling teams to innovate responsibly across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in software engineering, API development, or related field.
• Experience designing, developing, testing, and supporting REST APIs and lifecycle management.
• Experience implementing CI/CD controls, automated testing, API validation, security scanning, or governance-as-code.
• Knowledge of API security concepts including OAuth and access controls.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted engineering and governance controls.
• Strong scripting or programming skills and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Translate policies into implementable standards, controls, templates, and reusable patterns.
• Promote consistent API design, data definitions, schemas, and access patterns.
• Maintain governance artifacts and reference implementations.
• Track compliance and remediation across engineering teams.
• Establish engineering guardrails for AI agents accessing APIs and data.
• Define practices for agent evaluations, traceability, and monitoring.
• Review agent workflows for security, quality, and policy alignment.
• Partner with security, architecture, data, and responsible AI teams to operationalize policy.
