Job summary

CSAA Insurance Group, a leading AAA insurer, seeks a Governance Engineer II - Remote to turn enterprise API, data, security, and Responsible AI policies into practical, automated governance solutions.

You will build governance-as-code, guardrails, and self-service tooling to securely access data and tools, collaborating with security, architecture, and engineering teams to enable safe, compliant innovation.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in software engineering, API development, or related field.
• Experience designing, developing, testing, and supporting REST APIs and integrations.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and governance-as-code practices.
• Knowledge of API security concepts including auth and least-privilege access.
• Strong scripting or programming skills to automate governance tasks.

Responsibilities

• Review API specs and data contracts for alignment with enterprise standards.
• Translate policies into implementable governance standards, templates, and reusable components.
• Establish guardrails for AI agents to access APIs and enterprise data securely.
• Automate compliance, approvals, and lifecycle monitoring across teams.
• Develop governance-as-code and self-service tooling for developers.
