GT Independence seeks a Government Relations Director to lead the nationwide government affairs strategy, building bipartisan relationships with federal and state policymakers, Medicaid officials, and advocacy coalitions to support self-directed LTSS and FMS operations.

This senior role requires deep public policy expertise, strong communication, and the ability to translate regulatory changes into actionable guidance for internal teams and external partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare policy, government, or related field is required.
• 7+ years in government affairs, Medicaid policy, HCBS, or disability services.
• Proven experience with state and/or federal officials and regulatory bodies.
• Strong written and oral communication to influence diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to travel to state capitals, conferences, and government meetings as needed.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, track, and analyze Medicaid, HCBS, LTSS, and workforce policy activity.
• Draft policy briefs, testimony, letters, and advocacy materials.
• Build bipartisan relationships with federal/state legislators and regulators.
• Represent GT in hearings, meetings, and policy roundtables.
• Collaborate with associations and coalitions influencing LTSS and Medicaid policy.
• Provide strategic guidance during state implementations and regulatory changes.
