Canonical is seeking an experienced Golang Engineering Manager to lead internal product development and grow a team of software engineers working in Golang. This remote role, based in the EMEA region, emphasizes high engineering quality and accountability for delivery, with opportunities to mentor colleagues and evolve open-source solutions.

You will collaborate with Billing and Livepatch teams and work across Canonical’s global engineering org, traveling internationally twice yearly for events

Qualifications

Academic track record demonstrated in high school and university.
Undergraduate degree in a technical subject or compelling alternative path.
Experience with software development in high-level languages (Golang, Python, Java).
Excellent written and spoken English with strong presentation skills.
Willingness to travel internationally twice a year, for company events up to two weeks.

Responsibilities

Lead a Golang engineering team building internal products.
Accountability for design and development of internal platforms.
Mentor and grow direct reports and engineering capabilities.
