Job summary

B Lab is seeking a Communications & PR Manager to own the press office and earned media delivery, balancing proactive story pitching with reactive press response across our global network.

Reporting to the Director, Strategic Communications, you will lead proactive pitching, media monitoring, spokesperson briefings, and cross-network coordination, collaborating with brand, digital and copy teams to align messaging while upholding our editorial standards and crisis protocols.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in media relations, PR, or press office roles, ideally in nonprofit or mission-driven org.
• Demonstrated track record securing earned media coverage and managing press relationships.
• Experience running press office logistics: media list management, inbound triage, and coordinating speaking/interview requests.
• Experience with media monitoring and media database tools (e.g., Meltwater, Cision, or similar).
• Comfortable chairing cross-functional or cross-network working groups.

Responsibilities

• Oversee inbound media relations, triage and respond to press inquiries.
• Lead proactive pitching and maintain media lists.
• Cultivate relationships with priority outlets, journalists, and writers.
• Pitch and place thought leadership content and bylines.
