Job summary

Owens & Minor seeks a Sr. Global Category Procurement Manager for Resins & Latex (NBR) to lead a 12–36 month strategy with a $100M spend.

This role partners with R&D, Operations, Finance, and Legal within a center-led, hybrid model to optimize costs and supply resilience while driving sustainability and supplier performance. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years in global procurement, strong negotiation, and experience in petrochemical value chains, with leadership across regions and time

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Polymer Chemistry, or related highly analytical discipline.
10+ years of global procurement experience with at least 5 years in resins, chemicals, elastomers, or rubber/polymer materials.
Deep understanding of petrochemical value chains and commodity markets (propylene, butadiene, acrylonitrile, naphtha).
Proven track record in a center-led hybrid procurement organization.
Master’s degree in supply chain, Management, Engineering or related analytical discipline.
Multilingual capabilities to facilitate negotiations (APAC).
Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills across levels.

Responsibilities

Develop and deliver a robust 12–36 month global category strategy for resins and NBR latex with 4-5% cost savings target.
Actively manage the global supply base to reduce risk by diversifying sourcing regions.
Establish index-linked, transparent pricing frameworks tied to feedstocks.
Drive savings via tiered incentives and hedging strategies to manage volatility.
Track macro trends and align inventory programs with production demand; provide clear analytics.
Coordinate with R&D, Operations, Finance, and Legal to ensure centralized governance and efficient plant execution.
Advance sustainability by adopting bio-based and compliant NBR solutions.
Lead and coach regional procurement resources to execute sourcing strategy and supplier engagement.
Develop robust cost models and should-cost analyses including yield, scrap, freight, and quality.
Prepare concise, senior-leader updates on market dynamics, supplier performance, and risk posture.
Enforce supplier KPIs on quality, delivery, emissions, and competitiveness.
