Job summary

Owens & Minor seeks a Global Category Manager - Packaging to lead a 12-36 month worldwide sourcing plan spanning packaging tiers, managing over $100 MM in spend. In a center-led hybrid model, you will shape contracting, sourcing, and sustainability initiatives while aligning with R&D, Marketing, and Operations.

The role drives 4-5% cost savings, oversees a small team, and partners across the US to optimize total cost and supplier resilience. Remote/hybrid flexibility is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Packaging Engineering, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 10+ years of global procurement experience in packaging across FMCG or manufacturing sectors.
• Deep understanding of packaging manufacturing processes and index-based contracting.
• Advanced capability in should-cost modeling, tooling analysis, and index-based contract mechanics.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver a robust 12-36 month global packaging category strategy.
• Lead cost savings of 4-5% through supplier negotiations and optimization.
• Collaborate with Marketing, R&D, Operations, and Quality for governance.
• Build total cost models and should-cost analyses to identify savings opportunities.
• Provide executive updates on market dynamics, supplier performance, and risk.
