Remote GIS Technician - Telecom Infrastructure Mapping

Job summary

Centerline is seeking a GIS Technician to support design, construction and tracking of telecom infrastructure. You will manage geospatial data, produce maps, and assist field and engineering teams using ArcGIS, AutoCAD and related tools from a remote location in the United States.

You should have 2+ years GIS experience and a related degree, with strong communication and the ability to work independently. Compensation includes benefits and 401(k) with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• 2+ years GIS experience in design, data management or field support.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Geography, Engineering, CS, Environmental Science or related field.
• Strong written and oral communication; ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams.
• Experience publishing with ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online and Portal for ArcGIS.
• Proficiency with Esri platform and app suite; familiarity with Open source GIS and CAD tools is a plus.
• Knowledge of ArcGIS systems (ArcGIS 10.8.x, ArcPro 3.x, ArcSDE, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Online) and Microsoft Office.
• Programming or scripting with Python, HTML, or similar languages is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support data and mapping needs for design, construction, deployment, and tracking of telecom infrastructure.
• Operate GIS hardware/software: ArcPro, ArcGIS platforms, AutoCAD, Katapult, ArcFM/3-GIS, MS Office, and geodata devices.
• Create/edit geospatial data in shapefiles, KMZs, and file geodatabases.
• Publish/convert information to ArcGIS Services and external sources including AutoCAD, Google Earth, Excel, and mobile apps.
• Georeference and digitize GIS data; correct errors when merging data from multiple sources.
• Gather freely available GIS data and investigate potential corrections/updates.
• Process field data with ESRI App Suite (Collector, Field Maps).
• Document data processing procedures and maintain records.
• Create and maintain web maps and mapping portals using ArcGIS Online and legacy systems.
