Job summary

Geographic Technologies Group seeks a GIS Technician to support GIS program activities, producing maps, spatial databases, and thematic data such as wetlands, road centerlines, and historic sites.

Under moderate supervision, you will create and adjust base maps, develop interfaces and macros, perform spatial analyses, and deliver reports to clients; occasional travel may be required. Remote position with training provided.

Qualifications

• ArcGIS Desktop and/or Pro familiarity is required.
• Experience organizing and managing GIS data in spatial databases.
• Ability to perform basic spatial analyses and produce GIS reports.

Responsibilities

• Produce maps, spatial databases, and thematic data (e.g., wetlands, roads, historic sites).
• Create, adjust, and manage base maps and data.
• Write programs and develop interfaces, menus, and macros for user needs.
• Perform basic spatial analyses and generate reports for clients.
• Provide training and troubleshooting support to clients.
• Travel occasionally as needed.
• Develop GIS products and map outputs and metadata.
