Job summary

Great Redwood Trail Agency (GRTA) is seeking a GIS & Information Systems Administrator to lead and expand its GIS and information systems capabilities, aiming to reduce reliance on consultants and to build durable in‑house systems.

This remote, California‑based position offers independence within a small, collaborative team and the chance to shape GIS and information systems for trail development, land management, planning, and decision‑making.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in geographic information systems, geography, computer science, information management, environmental science, or related field.
Three years of progressively responsible GIS analysis and geodatabase administration experience, primarily using ESRI products, in a public agency, special district, land trust, or similar setting.
Significant hands‑on experience with ArcGIS Online and other ESRI desktop and web-based GIS products.
Experience designing and administering geodatabases, including topology, relational structures, attributes, data quality, metadata, access, and version control.
Experience creating web-based mapping applications, dashboards, interactive maps, and other user-facing GIS tools.

Responsibilities

Oversee and advance GRTA's GIS and information systems functions.
Develop geodatabases, dashboards, maps, and web GIS applications.
Collaborate with staff and partners to ensure data accuracy, interoperability, and documentation.
