ABB is seeking a Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) Commissioning Engineer to lead the on-site commissioning of GIS and RMU systems, ensuring safety and adherence to standards. This role supports FAT/IFAT, interfaces with customers and ABB teams, and travels 40-50% across the United States.

The successful candidate will mentor junior engineers and contribute to data center service excellence, with a focus on quality, documentation, and timely project delivery.

Formación

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of commissioning and field engineering experience.
• Strong experience with ABB GIS (ZX Portfolio) and RMU (SafeRing / SafePlus).
• Experience with ABB Protection & Control platforms (ZEE600, SSC600, PCM600).
• Knowledge of generator paralleling systems and critical power infrastructure.
• Proficient technical writing skills for commissioning documentation.
• Ability to travel 40-50%

Responsabilidades

• Lead commissioning of ABB GIS and RMU systems per ABB standards and IEEE/IEC/ANSI requirements.
• Create commissioning work plans, cost estimates, schedules, risk assessments, and MOPs.
• Support execution and manage commissioning through energization and acceptance.
• Support FAT/IFAT and interface with customers, EPCs, utilities, and ABB teams.
• Identify commissioning risks and lead mitigation actions.
• Assist contract managers with technical input on scope and claims.
• Perform site visits and mentor junior engineers.
