Job summary

The American Red Cross is seeking a Gift Planning Officer to manage a regional portfolio and advance planned gift conversations. You will identify prospects, cultivate donors, and steward relationships across Minnesota and the Dakotas.

Reporting to the Director of Gift Planning, you will develop strategic approaches, train teams, and collaborate with financial planners to maximize bequests, trusts, and life income gifts. Travel is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced certification preferred (CFRE, CFP, CAP, JD or LLM).
• Minimum 5 years major gift or gift planning experience.
• Experience with gifts of assets and life income gifts is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage the gift planning strategy for a regional portfolio.
• Grow Legacy Society membership and steward planned gift donors.
• Provide training to the regional team on gift planning.
• Collaborate with financial planners and estate planning groups to maximize bequests and trusts.
• Report donor activity and support fundraising goals.
