Job summary

The American Red Cross seeks a Gift Planning Officer to support donors across Minnesota and the Dakotas. This role offers work-from-home flexibility with regular in-person/phone/virtual engagement within the region. You will lead gift planning for a regional portfolio and advance the Legacy Society, while enhancing stewardship and fundraising capacity.

Bachelor’s degree is required; an advanced degree or CFRE/CFP/CAP/JD/LLM is preferred. Travel 10%–25% as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required; advanced degrees or certifications are preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of major gift or gift planning experience.
• Experience with gifts of assets and life income gifts is preferred.
• Experience promoting, managing, cultivating and soliciting such programs is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage gift planning strategy for a portfolio in the Region.
• Grow membership of the Legacy Society.
• Maintain and enhance a stewardship program for all planned gifts.
• Provide training on gift planning to the regional development team.
• Coordinate with financial planning and estate planning partners.
