Job summary

City of Austin seeks a GIS Analyst to build, maintain, and display a comprehensive geospatial information system for Parks and Recreation. You will analyze data from multiple sources, design data management workflows, and support geospatial applications across divisions.

The role requires ArcGIS/ESRI expertise, the ability to read site plans and surveys, and experience collaborating with IT and stakeholders to implement geospatial solutions.

Qualifications

• Two years of education from an accredited college or university in a field related to the job. Education may be substituted by experience.
• Experience editing, analyzing, and maintaining data with ArcGIS/ESRI software.
• Proficient in using ArcMap in multi-editor environments.
• Ability to read surveys, site plans, legal descriptions, and geospatial documents.

Responsibilities

• Produce and analyze data to create datasets, cartographic layouts, and reports.
• Assist in data management and geospatial programming activities.
• Publish and improve IT policies, governance, and security related to geospatial data.
• Install and evaluate new geospatial software releases and upgrades.
