Job summary

Austin Memorial Park Cemetary is seeking an IT Geospatial Analyst to create, maintain, and update its GIS, ensuring accurate maps and data for park operations. The role involves data analysis, cartography, and collaboration with IT and field teams.

The position requires GIS education and experience with ArcGIS ESRI tools, ArcMap workflows, and data management. Some travel to multiple parks and remote work options may be available after probation.

Qualifications

• Two years of education from an accredited college or university in a field related to the job. Experience may substitute for education up to two years.
• Experience with ArcGIS/ESRI GIS for parkland and park-like settings is preferred.
• Proficient in geospatial edits and analysis using ESRI ArcMap in ArcGIS desktop environments with multiple editors.
• Experience using ESRI workflow manager for analysis and QA.
• Ability to read site plans, surveys, and property records; interpret ordinances and SOPs.
• Experience communicating to diverse audiences (verbal, written, presentations).

Responsibilities

• Produces and analyzes data to create datasets, cartographic layouts, and reports per specifications.
• Assists with data management, element modification, and privileges assignment.
• Assists with programming activities: design, development, testing, debugging, documentation, modification of geospatial apps.
• Interprets source records and documents; researches data.
• Supports policy, governance, standards, and security initiatives for IT.
• Installs software releases and evaluates new geospatial technology.
• Collaborates with IT, vendor, and user communities.
