The primary role of the Data Architect is to support and expand the Data & Analytics platforms that process, store, and organize data critical for the data and analytics team. This role requires expertise in data movement and database technologies to support data analytics and Machine Learning (ML) / Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities in the cloud. The person should be able to identify performance bottlenecks in complex enterprise applications and suggest tuning opportunities.

- Possess deep functional and technical understanding of Machine Learning technologies (Google’s Cloud Platform) and leverage it across the client’s large, complex, and diverse landscape.
- Analyze performance and scalability characteristics to identify bottlenecks in large-scale distributed systems.
- Perform root cause analysis of performance issues identified by internal testing and customers, and suggest corrective actions.
- Have business acumen, with a strong understanding of how business operates and how to harness data and analytics to meet business needs.
- Be an expert in designing and developing all layers of an application and platform.
- Lead the development of technology transitions or architecture evolutions by creating foundational working solutions and coaching teams on how to build on those examples.
- Engage early in project efforts to analyze current solutions, provide options and recommendations, understand business process impacts, and provide accurate estimates.
- Design and architect applications across multiple domains including Data Engineering, Data Science, Data Visualization, and Application Development.
- Demonstrate deep understanding of business processes and technological building blocks.
- Lead collaboration with project teams, including application, data, integration, infrastructure, and security enterprise architects, to develop and deploy comprehensive solution architectures.
- Ensure projects are delivered in line with design, roadmaps, and standards.
- Be skilled as a Data Architect capable of designing end-to-end data-driven solutions.
- Influence adoption among IT, Business, and Architecture groups.
- Create designs considering data sources, dependencies, development, and deployment landscapes.
- Generate ideas and suggestions for process and technical improvements supported by the team.
- Architect the GCP data platform to meet non-functional requirements of the consumption layer and solutions built on top of it.
- Identify potential performance and availability challenges proactively, implement recommendations, and ensure systems’ capacity and availability exceed requirements while achieving business results.
- Partner with solution architects, data engineers, platform engineers, and other team members to assess needs, design capabilities, establish roadmaps, test, troubleshoot, identify risks, and recommend solutions.
- Communicate effectively across all levels of the department and create artifacts to clearly deliver messages.
