Job summary

Capgemini Engineering in the United States is seeking a senior Functional Safety Engineer to ensure safety and reliability of autonomous robotic vehicles. You will apply STPA, FMEA, and FTA across the product lifecycle to identify hazards and define requirements.

Collaborate with hardware and software teams, maintain safety documentation, and support audits while aligning with ISO 25119, ISO 13849 and IEC 61508 standards.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of functional safety engineering experience in robotics, automotive, earth-moving equipment, or mining machinery.
• Experience with FMEA, FTA, and STPA safety analyses.
• Knowledge of functional safety standards and lifecycle processes.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams and communicate with leadership.
• Prepare safety documentation, plans, cases, and reports.

Responsibilities

• Promote safety culture and integrate safety into daily operations.
• Develop functional safety concepts and requirements for autonomous vehicle control systems.
• Collaborate with hardware and software teams to allocate safety requirements.
