Job summary

S27a is hiring a Software Engineer, Data Platforms for an AI-native fullstack role. You will own features end-to-end, from backend services and data pipelines to frontends used by experts.

You will design and ship fullstack features across APIs, data pipelines, and React frontends, and you will work with research engineers, operations, and product to turn requirements into production-ready systems in a remote-first environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a relevant field.
• 0-5 years of software engineering experience or strong shipped projects as a recent graduate.
• Strong fundamentals in Python and TypeScript with experience building CRUD apps using FastAPI/Flask and React.
• Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or SQLite and core data modelling principles.
• Experience deploying services on a major cloud platform (GCP, AWS, or Azure).

Responsibilities

• Design and ship fullstack features across backend APIs, data pipelines, and React frontends.
• Own client-facing data delivery and platform infrastructure, including exports, access control, and reliability.
• Direct coding agents and review changes at the architecture level until shipped.
• Build and maintain services in Python (FastAPI) and TypeScript.
• Contribute to data modeling, schema design, and query performance across databases.
• Partner with research engineering, operations, and product to translate platform needs into production-ready systems.
• Improve the frameworks, checks, and evals that speed up agent-driven development without sacrificing quality.
• Troubleshoot production issues and build observable, resilient systems.
