Job summary

WEX Inc. seeks a Software Engineer II to contribute to the Beyond Fuel and Expense Management initiative within WEX Mobility Engineering.

You will build full-stack capabilities across web and mobile interfaces, backend services, APIs, and partner integrations to deliver secure, scalable payment and expense management experiences. You will work as an individual contributor with engineers across the United States and India, owning components from design through production launch and maintaining

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (required).
4–6 years of professional software engineering experience preferred.
Strong Java and Spring Boot fundamentals with REST API design.
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS) and CI/CD pipelines.
Knowledge of security, authentication/authorization, and data protection.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain features across full stack (web, backend, APIs).
Develop scalable backend services and data models for payments and expenses platforms.
Collaborate with Product, Design, Security, and Eng teams across US and India.
Contribute to architecture, tech design reviews, and coding standards.
Ensure observability with logs, tracing, metrics, and robust testing.
