Job summary

WEX seeks a Full-stack Staff Software Engineer to provide technical leadership for the Beyond Fuel and Expense Management initiative within WEX Mobility Engineering. This is a remote role with residency required near Boston, MA; San Francisco Bay Area, CA; Dallas, TX; Salt Lake City, UT; Seattle, WA; or Portland, ME.

You will work across web and mobile applications, backend services, APIs, and partner integrations to deliver secure, reliable, and scalable payment and expense management

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or related field.
• 8-10 years of professional software engineering.
• Experience taking a new product from concept to production.
• Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical architecture, design, and implementation for the Beyond Fuel and Expense Management platform.
• Build full-stack capabilities across web, mobile, backend, APIs, and partner integrations.
• Translate product requirements into technical designs and roadmaps.
• Mentor engineers and guide reviews while remaining hands-on.
• Establish testing, observability, and secure development standards.
