Job summary

SMX is seeking a Software Engineer - Front End Web Application to contribute to the Budget and Spend BAS solution. This remote role supports a Washington, DC based customer and requires Public Trust clearance.

You will develop interactive UI components, optimize performance, and participate in code reviews as part of a team delivering SaaS BI analytics tools. You will collaborate across disciplines to ensure scalable, user-friendly applications and maintain high-quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or equivalent job experience.
• Knowledge of REST APIs and data formats such as XML and JSON.
• Experience in Object Oriented Programming/Design, Web Development and debugging.
• Proven ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Public Trust clearance required; U.S. citizenship is necessary.

Responsibilities

• Review application requirements and interface designs.
• Develop and implement highly interactive UI/UX components.
• Monitor and improve front-end performance.
• Document application changes and developing updates.
• Provide feedback on the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.
