Job summary

Shield Consulting Solutions in Annapolis Junction, MD seeks a Front-End Developer/508 Compliance Specialist to blend modern front-end engineering with hands-on accessibility expertise. Telework up to 3 days/week.

The role requires active TS/SCI w/Polygraph, collaboration with an Agile team to deliver accessible UIs meeting Section 508 and WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA. You will implement ARIA, test with screen readers, and drive automated checks in CI/CD.

Qualifications

• Proven experience building front-end apps with modern JS frameworks.
• Hands-on accessibility testing with screen readers and ARIA.
• Knowledge of Section 508, WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA, and semantic HTML.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain accessible front-end components.
• Conduct accessibility testing using JAWS and other tools.
• Audit, document findings, and produce test reports for compliance.
• Collaborate with UX/UI, developers and product owners in Agile.
• Integrate automated accessibility checks into CI/CD pipelines.
• Advise on accessible design patterns and patterns for keyboard navigation.
