Job summary

Shield Consulting Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Front-End Developer focused on Section 508 accessibility to ensure the RAD system interfaces are usable by people with disabilities. The role blends strong front-end engineering with hands-on accessibility testing and remediation, including screen readers.

Qualifications

• Proven experience building front-end apps with modern JS frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of Section 508 and WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA standards.
• Hands-on testing with screen readers (JAWS) and keyboard navigation.
• Experience with semantic HTML and accessible form design.
• Familiarity with ARIA practices and accessibility auditing tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain accessible front-end components conforming to Section 508/WCAG AA.
• Perform 508 testing and remediation using screen readers and accessibility tools.
• Conduct audits and document findings; produce test reports for compliance.
• Collaborate with UX/UI, developers, and product owners to bake accessibility in by design.
• Integrate automated accessibility testing tools (axe-core, Pa11y, Lighthouse) into CI/CD.
