Job summary

Giga Energy Inc. in Houston seeks a Switchboard Engineer to own customization and delivery of switchboard designs from concept to manufacturing release. You will develop mechanical and electrical prints in SolidWorks, ensuring UL 891 compliance and high quality and safety standards.

This role supports a remote-friendly, globally dispersed team, with occasional travel to hub offices. You’ll collaborate with product and engineering teams, translate concepts into manufacturable drawings, and manage

Qualifications

• Degree or certification in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3+ years of experience in a sheet metal manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks CAD tools.
• Experience designing UL 891-compliant low-voltage switchboards.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, tolerances, and materials.
• Excellent communication, especially with international teams.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Customize switchboard designs per customer specs and project requirements.
• Translate designs into accurate manufacturing prints with product and engineering teams.
• Create detailed mechanical and electrical CAD drawings in SolidWorks per UL 891.
• Maintain up-to-date design docs and communicate changes to stakeholders.
• Review drawings for clarity, manufacturability, and compliance.
• Troubleshoot design issues with manufacturing teams.
• Manage multiple design projects and meet deadlines.
• Coordinate across time zones to align technical deliverables.
