Job summary

GST, LLC is seeking a Senior Oracle Database Administrator to manage day-to-day on-premises Oracle databases under the NSPIRES program and support the teams that use them. The role, based in the Arlington, VA area, offers a local remote schedule with occasional in-person meetings as needed.

Responsibilities include RMAN backup/restore, performance tuning, upgrades, security, and monitoring; creating databases; managing storage and objects; incident resolution within SLAs; and scripting in Perl,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in computer science or related field.
• 10+ years overall, with 5 years Oracle on-premises DBMS.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day Oracle database administration for on-prem systems.
• Backup, restore and recover databases using RMAN.
• Tune performance and monitor Oracle 19c/19g and MySQL environments.
• Create databases, manage upgrades and storage structures.
• Manage users, security, and database objects (tables, indexes, views).
• Respond to incidents within SLAs and coordinate with Oracle Support.
• Write scripts in Perl, SQL, and Linux shell.
• Communicate clearly and document work.
