Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to join our CAEIO program supporting the Department of State. This remote role requires residence in the Washington, DC area for occasional on-site activities.

You will manage Oracle databases, implement security controls, and lead complex DB projects across multiple DBMS environments. The ideal candidate has extensive Oracle experience (19c/11g/12c), strong troubleshooting skills, and a proven track record of mentoring team members.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 12 years of experience or a Master's degree and 10 years of experience.
• Associates degree and 14 years of experience or a High School diploma/equivalent and 16 years of experience.
• U.S. citizenship and minimum active SECRET clearance with the ability to obtain TOP SECRET clearance.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain smooth operation and physical design of databases.
• Conduct performance tuning of indexes and databases.
• Review database designs and integration of systems; provide backup recovery; and recommend enhancements.
• Maintain security and integrity controls.
• Manage day-to-day enterprise security hygiene, rapidly executing remediations for high-severity CVEs and actively exploited KEVs to protect core systems and applications.
• Formulate policies, procedures, and standards related to database management, and monitor transaction activity and utilization.
• Develop stored procedures and triggers.
• Administer a variety of database systems, such as Oracle RDBMS, MS SQL Server, Postgres DB, and other DBMS.
• Develop and enforce database administration and user standards and procedures; audit, modify, and amend data in systems using SQL commands.
• Oversee the scheduling of database projects, database and transaction log backups, notifications, and database replication between multiple SQL servers and remote sites.
