Job summary

Donan Engineering is seeking a Field Forensic Engineer I with a background in Electrical Engineering to join our Orlando, Florida team. This role focuses on completing forensic engineering projects within budget and schedule while maintaining firm standards and client commitments.

The ideal candidate holds a PE license and a bachelor’s in electrical or mechanical engineering, with strong report writing and communication skills, and willingness to travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Active PE licensure in the state of practice is required.
• Willingness to obtain additional state licensures as needed.
• NCEES record in progress or obtainable.
• Bachelors degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• Prior forensic experience preferred but not required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert forensic analysis on engineering projects.
• Serve as Engineer of Record for Associate Engineers.
• Prepare detailed, timely reports on completed projects per guidelines.
• Travel within regional boundaries as assigned; may travel to other regions as needed.
• Communicate project timelines and updates to clients regularly.
• Willingness to provide expert testimony/depositions when required.
• Pursue additional training and mentoring opportunities and certifications.
