Job summary

Michigan State University is seeking a Building Systems Efficiency Supervisor to lead the Building Performance Services team, driving energy efficiency and advanced control systems across campus facilities. The role oversees complex projects, estimates costs, designs plans, and manages internal and external labor to deliver ECM priorities.

Remote-friendly with a 40/20/20/10 project mix, the position emphasizes collaboration with academic units, consultants, and utility partners to maximize MSU

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in mechanical/electrical/HVAC/energy or related field; 8+ years in operations/maintenance of high-performance buildings and energy analysis.
• Valid driver's license at hire.

Responsibilities

• Manage very complex multi-craft projects in Planon and Power BI, including estimating, design, project management, procurement, scheduling, inspection, labor management, and closeout.
• Provide control system estimating and design (AutoCAD drawings) and oversee contracted labor for Building Services.
• Oversee day-to-day operations of the Building Systems Efficiency Team and lead ECM compilation and process management.
