Job summary

Mission Lane LLC is seeking a Principal Business Analyst, Fraud to design and test defenses that stop fraudulent applications while ensuring fair, fast decisions for real applicants. You will collaborate with Operations, Product, Data Science, and Engineering to sharpen fraud detection, mentor analysts, and drive data-backed risk decisions.

The role emphasizes building real-time defenses, translating results into actionable insights, and traveling for in-person collaboration as needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a highly analytical role (risk, business analytics, data science)
• Experience with credit cards or consumer lending products
• Experience designing/executing A or Champion/Challenger tests in a risk funnel
• Ability to frame ambiguous questions, form hypotheses, analyze data, and defend conclusions
• Strong SQL, Python, or other data-analysis tools proficiency
• Bachelor's or Master's in a quantitative field with strong academic performance
• Willingness to travel ~4–6+ times per year for in-person collaboration

Responsibilities

• Dig into application data to identify emerging fraud patterns and surface vulnerabilities
• Design, build, and run A and Champion/Challenger tests for real-time defenses
• Balance risk and customer experience by translating results into data-backed recommendations
• Build and maintain dashboards tracking defense performance against coverage, friction, abandonment and losses
• Partner with Operations, Product, Data Science, and Engineering to sharpen fraud detection capabilities
• Mentor junior analysts on fraud analytics judgment
