Horace Mann is seeking a Financial Analyst II to support financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis. You will partner with division leadership to deliver insights, build financial models, and support decision making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
• 3–5 years of finance, accounting, FP&A, or related experience.
• Strong analytical, financial modeling, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Proficiency with financial systems and tools, including Excel and planning/reporting applications.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial information to leadership.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate budgeting and planning with division leadership.
• Analyze budgets, spending trends, and key business drivers.
• Present budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses to leadership.
• Develop allocation methodologies and cost drivers.
• Prepare CBAs and financial models for initiatives.
• Perform recurring and ad hoc financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting.
• Prepare monthly accruals and expense analyses.
• Ensure expenses comply with controls and policies.
• Analyze business metrics and industry trends to provide recommendations.
• Prepare and communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual results.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements.
