Job summary

The National Forest Foundation seeks a Lincoln NF Forestry Project Coordinator to support forest restoration across Lincoln National Forest in Southern New Mexico. The role focuses on oversight of forestry, reforestation and project implementation, coordinating with USFS, NFF and contractors.

Responsibilities include building partnerships, managing contracts, exploring wood product opportunities, and reporting outcomes for grantors. Remote work with travel within New Mexico may be required.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in conservation, forestry, natural resource management or equivalent experience.
• Experience with project planning, coordination, budget tracking and multi-partner operations.
• Knowledge of land and watershed science, policy and management including fire, vegetation, wildlife and restoration.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with USFS, NFF and field partners to run community-based conservation partnerships.
• Coordinate forest restoration efforts and oversee on-the-ground project implementation with crews and contractors.
• Develop and manage wood product initiatives and regional woodbank opportunities.
• Support work under Stewardship Agreements and Cost Share agreements.
• Oversee forest thinning and reforestation projects and supervise contracting processes.
• Prepare reports on project outcomes as required by grantors.
• Attend Lincoln NF coordination meetings and partner events.
• Identify partnerships and grants to expand restoration capacity.
