Job summary

NV5 is seeking a Forensic Structural Engineer for a remote position based in Houston, TX. This role involves managing forensic engineering assessments, providing detailed reports, and acting as an expert witness for legal cases. You will engage with clients before and after site visits and supervise junior engineers in the field.

The ideal candidate has a B.S. in Civil, Structural, or Architecture Engineering, with a preference for those holding an M.S. and a Professional Engineering (PE) license. Competitive salary and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Professional Engineering (PE) license in Florida or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Experience in forensic assessments.
• Strong communication skills for client interaction.

Responsibilities

• Manage structural forensic engineering assignments.
• Perform forensic engineering assessments.
• Testify in legal proceedings when required.
• Develop reports on site observations and findings.

Skills

Knowledge of building codes and standards

Litigation experience

Residential and/or commercial inspection experience

Education

B.S. Degree in Civil, Structural, or Architecture Engineering

M.S. Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
