Valor Healthcare, Inc. is seeking a Mental Health Reviewing Consultant to perform psychiatric consultations and submit written recommendations remotely. The role supports federal hiring programs and requires extensive forensic psychiatry expertise.

This remote, part-time position emphasizes evaluating documentation from IMEs, determining fitness for duty, and providing timely written guidance to COR or Nurse Consultants. A medical license and ABPN psychiatry certification are required.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current, active medical license in the U.S. or DC.
• Board certification in Psychiatry by ABPN.
• Minimum five years in forensic law enforcement hiring or related areas.
• Experience reviewing FFDE cases for psychological and psychiatric illness preferred.
• Experience performing psychiatric consultations and writing recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Review all documentation provided by the IME for adequacy, consistency, and credibility.
• Communicate discrepancies between the IME provider and the Mental Health Reviewing Consultant.
• Provide a written recommendation to the COR or Nurse Consultant within ten business days.
• Emphasize judgment and safety when evaluating weapon-carrying/public safety employees.
• Address if the employee is Fit or Not Fit to perform duties safely and efficiently.
• Assess whether the condition is disqualifying or may recur and impact duties.
