Job summary

EFI Global is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer, P.E., with a strong background in power system analysis and origin-and-cause investigations. The role is remote, with travel as needed, and ideally based in Southern California.

Requires a BS in Electrical Engineering and a PE license; expert witness experience is a plus. You will deliver comprehensive analyses, mentor colleagues, and collaborate with a global network of experts to support client investigations and litigation needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license; multi-state licensing preferred and/or active NCEES Record.
• Expert witness testimony experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide power system analysis and determine origin and cause of losses, failures and related analyses.
• Guidance and leadership to newer colleagues on complex engineering assignments.
• Learn about power generation, grids, distribution, protection, and arc mapping as needed.
• Inspect losses and loss scenes at various building types; document findings.
• Collaborate with experts to produce detailed reports on origins and causes of losses.
• Serve as an expert witness in court or depositions; maintain billable-hours records.
