Job summary

CQC Aeronautics, Inc. is seeking a full-time Flight Operations Engineer to join our professional services team. The role focuses on airport planning, design, and operations, with emphasis on aircraft performance and flight operations engineering.

You will independently analyze challenges, craft solutions, and present findings to clients. We operate a remote-first team, manage projects independently, and occasionally gather in-person for collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in aviation, airport planning, engineering, aviation management or related field; advanced degree preferred
• At least 5 years of professional experience in aircraft performance, flight operations engineering, airport planning/design/ops, air traffic, or instrument procedure design
• Professional GIS experience and ability to obtain/interpret aeronautical, obstacle and terrain data
• Ability to work remotely from CA, CO, FL, NY, TX, UT, or WA and travel to client sites as needed

Responsibilities

• Perform low-speed aircraft performance calculations including takeoff, climbout, and OEI procedures
• Perform high-speed aircraft performance calculations per domestic/international rules
• Analyze historical weather data for performance impact and procedures
• Evaluate/instrument procedures per FAA TERPS and PBN
• Assess runway/taxiway/NAVAIDs/lighting impacts of proposed changes
• File FAA 7460 case studies
• Obtain/translate domestic/international aeronautical, obstacle, terrain data
• Prepare technical reports/presentations detailing methods and recommendations
• Coordinate with airports, airlines, regulators to gather requirements
• Train AERefinery users to perform analyses
• Travel to client sites as needed
