VGS is building a trusted payments platform for AI-powered commerce. We seek a Staff Software Engineer to design and deliver agentic payment infrastructure with Python 3.13+ and FastAPI, focusing on secure, scalable APIs for token provisioning and encrypted payment data.

You will own security, reliability, and observability at scale, drive architectural decisions, and collaborate across Product, Security, Infrastructure, and external partners while applying AI‑assisted development to raise

Qualifications

• Ideally 10+ years leading large-scale distributed systems in mission-critical environments.

Responsibilities

• Architect Agentic Payment Infrastructure using Python 3.13+ and FastAPI.
• Define APIs and domain models for enrollment, token provisioning, purchase intents, mandates, attestation, and cryptograms.
• Own security, reliability, scale, and performance for sensitive payment workflows.
• Build deep observability with structured logging, metrics, and distributed tracing (OpenTelemetry/Prometheus).
• Automate provisioning using Kubernetes CRDs and API interactions.
• Set rigorous testing strategies (unit, integration, end-to-end) for high-risk payment flows.
• Lead design reviews and manage risks across cross-functional teams.
• Apply AI-assisted development to accelerate prototyping, testing, and delivery.
